Welcome to the New Paltz Seahawks 2026 Season!
You are embarking on a summer journey with a truly special team, one with over 15 DUSO championships under its belt! Whether this is your first year or your tenth, we are thrilled to have you as part of our winning tradition.
Our mission is simple: to make your child’s swimming experience as fun, rewarding, and memorable as possible. We hope your family grows to love not just the sport of swimming, but everything that comes with being a Seahawk, including teamwork, dedication, and community.

Registration Information
- Registration fees are $175 per swimmer (New Paltz Resident) $200 (Non-New Paltz Resident). Discounts for additional swimmers in the same family.
- Registration includes a team t-shirt, swim cap, and bag tag.
- There is a NO REFUND POLICY for registration fees.
- Any credit card fees incurred as a result of duplicate registration(s) cannot be refunded. If you are unsure if you have already registered your child, feel free to contact us!
- Practice starts on 6/1
- From 6/1 through 6/26 practice will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and select Saturdays.
- Starting on June 29th practice will be Monday-Friday.
- Please check the team website for specific hours according to your swimmers age group: Seahawks practice schedule
- Our season ends the first weekend in August.

New Swimmers
We are asking ALL new swimmers (ages 6 & up are welcome) to signup using the New Swimmer Registration button on the team website before coming to the first practice. Practice begins 6/1; you should refer to the practice calendar to determine your swimmer’s age group practice time. By attending practice, the pressure of a one-time evaluation will be eliminated and will allow a better sense of one's overall abilities. Our primary concern is safety in the water, but we are also looking for coachability and endurance, which has proven hard to determine in a one-time evaluation. Coaches will discuss your child’s swimming with you as deemed necessary during the first couple of weeks. Once it has been determined that your swimmer has made the team, you will be sent a link to complete the official registration.
The New Paltz Seahawks swim team is a summer swim team whose purpose is to introduce and instill a love of swimming to children ages 6-18, and to build a team that shows commitment to developing competitive swimming skills and building self-esteem and pride through both team and individual accomplishments.
Competitive swimming means demonstrating courage, hard work, determination, responsibility, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Recreational swimming means demonstrating the ability to have fun, to laugh, and to love the sport at every level. Our goal is to find and keep a good balance between the two. Swimmers owe it to themselves and to the team to show support to their fellow swimmers during practice, during meets, and outside of the pool.
The New Paltz Seahawks is steeped in tradition, with fond memories held by swimmers young and old. We are fortunate that as the program continues to grow, we have longstanding community members who have come through the program, return to the program either in form of coach, volunteer, or parent of a new swimmer. It is our hope that you and your family will grow to love not only the sport, but all things Seahawks.

The New Paltz Seahawks is a competitive swim team for youth ages 6 to 18. Practice starts after Memorial Day and our season ends the first weekend in August. Our program is a fantastic opportunity for kids to build swimming skills while having fun! We are one of eight teams in the DUSO League (Dutchess and Ulster Swim Organization) http://www.duso.org
